Valentine’s Day ideas 2021

With so many restrictions in place, there are not so many ideas left on how to celebrate this day. I thought I would share my thoughts on how to make this day a little bit extra special and for those who don’t celebrate, you can use these ideas for your next date night.

1 For me nothing beats old good dinner and movie at home. Get your favorite wine, prepare yummy dinner or just snacks and pick a movie. Simple recipes are my favorite.

2 Make cocktails at home. It’s a lot of fun in the process itself and I wish we did it more often. Go for simple recipes which doesn’t require you to buy 10 expensive bottles. Last time Nikita and I did our own version of Negroni. We even gave it a name - The Passeggiata!

3 Create spa experience at home. It can also be nice if you’re separated from your partner this year and want to feel better this day. Buy some sheet masks, make bubble bath, burn candles and relax.

4 Prepare something special for breakfast. Celebrating Valentine’s Day isn’t supposed to happen only after dinner. Go to Pinterest for lots of ideas for romantic breakfast.

5 Take a hike. If you’re one of those couples who miss adventures and traveling, this is an idea for you. Think about your surroundings and places where you can go to enjoy a hike. Take some hot tea with you and enjoy the view!

6 Go outside and have picnic on the fresh air. Depends on where you live but I’m sure there is a nice place you can escape to have a picnic. You can also rent bikes and ride to the park or seaside and then enjoy picnic and relax.

7 Talk about your future and spell out your wildest dreams. I enjoy having long conversations and dreaming together, making plans. It shows that you both are moving same direction and helps to know more about each other. It may feel weird for the first time, so have a glass of wine to chill out.

8 Cook mulled wine. It is still winter so hot aromatic drink sounds like a perfect fit. Check out my simple mulled wine recipe on the blog.
