Top TV series for learning English

We all heard stories when people learning English by watching tv shows. And if you watch my Youtube channel I also mentioned there that this is a way to really improve your language skills and pick up new words for your vocabulary. However it doesn’t mean that any tv series are good for the cause. Here is my list of tv series with good spoken English, great dialogues and storylines easy to follow and understand even with limited English (all tested on my boyfriend).

I recommend that you start with shorter episodes, such as one of the sitcoms on this list like ‘How I met your mother’. This allows you to gradually build your vocabulary and listening comprehension. Then, you can watch longer episodes with more difficult language as your vocabulary improves.

And last but definitely not the least - do not use subtitles, or at least turn on subtitles in English and not your native language. Just like listening to a real-life conversation, listening to English without subtitles is a challenge! However, learning new vocabulary based on context should quickly develop your listening comprehension skills.
